Thule AeroBlade Crossroad Roof Rack Installation - 2009 Mercury Mariner

Today on this 2009 Mercury Mariner we are going to be installing a Thule AeroBlade and Rapid Crossroad roof rack system. We will be using the 43 inch AeroBlade bar part number THARB43 and the Thule Rapid Crossroad feet part number TH450R. We already have our crossbar assemblies put together and we are ready to mount them up on the vehicle. We will place the crossbar assembly on top of our factory raised side rails. We will check both sides to make sure the crossbar is overhanging evenly on either side and we will also measure the feet to make sure they are spaced evenly on either side so that the crossbar runs perpendicular to our raised side rails. You will also want to make sure that the arrow mark in the center of your crossroad feet is pointed toward the center of your side rail bar. The arrow will help you to make sure you have the Crossroad positioned properly on top of your side rails. Now that we have the crossbar into position where we need it we can go ahead and tighten the system down. The Crossroad foot pack utilizes a steel band that is coated in rubber that is designed to wrap around your factory raised side rails. As you tighten the steel band the Crossroad foot will lock onto your side rail and it will also lock your crossbar into position. We will move back and forth from the driver side to the passenger side to make sure that we tighten down the system evenly and we do not lose our positioning. Once we have our front crossbar set we are ready to mount the rear. 1:23 more

Thule AeroBlade Crossroad Roof Rack Installation - 2008 Mercury Mariner

Today, on this 2008 Mercury Mariner, we are going to be installing a Thule Rapid Crossroad Roof Rack System, with the AeroBlade Bars. We already have our crossbar assemblies put together, now we are ready to mount them on our vehicle. We will position our crossbars on top of our vehicle. First, we will make sure that the overhang of the crossbars is even from side to side. Then, we will make sure that we have them set at the same spot on either side of the vehicle, so that the bars are running perpendicular to our factory raised side rails. Once we have our crossbar in place, we can begin tightening it down. The rapid crossroad feet use a rubber coated steel band that wraps around our factory side rails. As we tighten the steel band down, the crossroad foot locks onto our side rail and it also secures the bar into place into the crossroad foot. We will move back and forth from the drivers side to the passengers side as we tighten down to make sure the crossbar tightens down evenly. more
